Our halau, Ka Lehua I Milia, offers fun, challenging and fresh Tahitian dance in both styles: 'Otea (fast hip movements) and Aparima (slower dance) led by Myriam Valenzuela.
Whether you are a beginner or an experienced dancer, Ka Lehua I Milia Hula Halau will help you develop as a dancer and take your tahitian skills to the next level.
New haumana (students) always welcome.
Adult Beginner Tahitian: Mondays 5:45-6:45pm (Min. age 13) No previous experience necessary. May join at anytime.
Adult Intermediate Tahitian: Thursdays 6:30-7:30pm (Min. age 13) To join the intermediate class, you must at least have one year of experience at a hula halau and have good foundations of footwork and cultural protocol. Email us to set up a time to audition with the kumu. Please do not be nervous, but understand that in order to be able to gain something from this class you must start with a certain level of acquired grace and knowledge.
